Water and its secrets

Initially, the bridge forms due to electrostatic charges on the surface of the water. I like to receive postcards, real postcards from my mail box, not e-postcards. It’s always a little moment of surprise. Well, what do you think receive a postcard from the deep sea? Staff at Living Coasts in Torquay, Devon, asked the local council to paint the black and white markings to improve safety.
The attraction's colony of 80 African penguins regularly uses a public thoroughfare during feeding time.
Every day the birds cross a wide footpath as they make their way from Penguin Beach to meet a keeper.
Staff noticed the excited animals were bumping into visitors and so installed the zebra crossing to keep therm in order.
They have now learned to use the crossing and is a regular sight waddling across the road in line.
The crossing even has miniature red triangular warning signs - complete with penguins.

Liquid crystal display (LCD) televisions could soon become obsolete
Display technology is always under evolution and LCD (Liquid crystal display) displays televisions could soon become obsolete, yes this is true! Professors Vincent Donnelly, Demetre Economou and Paul Ruchhoeft, of the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston, have developed a technique that allows some nanotech devices to be mass-produced.
These researches believe that this could move the television industry away from the LCD display to the superior field emission display.
Field emission displays use a large array of carbon nanotubes, the most efficient emitters known, to create a higher resolution picture than an LCD.
The breakthrough 'nanopantography' fabrication technique can mass-produce an ordered array of carbon nanotubes and make field emission display fabrication viable.
The method uses standard photolithography to selectively remove parts of a thin film, and etching to create arrays of ion-focusing micro-lenses (small round holes through a metal structure) on a substrate such as a silicon wafer.
"These lenses focus the 'beamlets' to fabricate a hole 100 times smaller than the lens size," Professor Donnelly explained.

Apollo and Moon Mysteries
A project with Arizona State University and Nasa are putting available on the internet images with high resolution taken from the space during Apollo 15, 16 and 17 expedition.
To record their historic voyages and collect scientific observations many thousands of photographs were acquired with handheld and automated cameras during all the Apollo missions.
To allow full access to the original flight films for both researchers and the general public, Johnson Space Center and Arizona State University's Space Exploration Resources are scanning and creating an online digital archive of all the original Apollo flight films.
This web site also provides a suite of resources regarding the images and the cameras that were used during the Apollo program. Finally, the scanning process is estimated to take three years with the first production scans recorded in late June 2007.

Red Bull Air Race, Steve Jones Wins in Porto/Gaia in front of 600.000
What a great show that was Red Bull Air Race World in Porto/Gaia, Portugal. More than 600,000 spectators packed the banks of the Douro River in Porto/Gaia, Portugal, for the eighth leg of the Red Bull Air Race World Series. Roads came to a standstill and trains were sold out as thousands flocked to watch the race, making it the biggest single-day sporting event in Portuguese history. Steve Jones (GBR/Team Matador) beat Mike Mangold (USA/Team Cobra) by 0.38 of a second in a thrilling battle and had his first victory of the season.
Jones put in a sterling performance for the huge Portuguese crowd with a great run in the final through the 17-gate course to defeat Mangold. He posted a winning time of 1 minute 10.00 seconds. Paul Bonhomme (GBR/Team Matador) took third by winning the consolation race against Peter Besenyei (HUN/Team Red Bull).
